Here's a quick rundown of what we did today as we continued our series based on the book "Boundaries". Richard taught from the story of the prodigal son about having personal boundaries.
Here's the order of service:
1. You, You Are God - Gateway
2. Never Let Go - Redman
3. Majesty
4. From the Inside Out - Hillsong United
Skit: The Rest Room (from Willow)
Walk up song: "Running on Empty" by Jackson Brown
Sermon - Richard
Response Time - we used a medley of "I Surrender All" and "Invitation".
Here's a video of us reshearsing "Invitation" - thanks Debbie for singing with me. Bill Mc is on piano and Mary is on flute. The video is taken on my itty bitty creative labs video camera and the colors are washed out because of where we are standing but you can hear the song (volume is sort of low) and see our set for Boundaries. The one thing you can't see well on the video is the colors. Actually the lighting on the "fence" is really beautiful but is not captured from this angle for some reason......
Invitation from Jan Owen on Vimeo.
The first service was once again very quiet but the second service had great energy!

How was your Sunday??
From The Inside Out - the lyric of that song gets me every time. I sometimes find it hard to sing I'm so overcome.

"From the inside out" is such a great song. Just curious what key do you sing it in? I would love to do the song but it seems to be written for a male voice and I can't seem to find a key that works for me, the verses always seem to be to low.

Hey, I LOVE the stage background! For some reason, I'm in a rush today and I haven't yet watched the video. Will come back and watch it this evening.
Will have to go get my Gateway discs and listen to "You, You Are God," because I can't remember it. Love your selection of music this week! (Don't know the Jackson Browne tune, though.)

steffanie, I do "From the Inside Out" in A. It works for me and I have a second soprano - alto range. I have to move almost every song I do many steps because they are mostly sung by men. Our band just expects it now.

This is a great set list! I love all the songs you did.

I was just thinking last week that I want to teach our people "From the Inside Out!" I did it at our previous church. And the key thing? Yeah, "Miss Alto worship leader" here...they ALL know nothing will be in the same key! Can't wait to meet you in person, Jan, at Recreate!
