Are you sure I was upset over aluminum foil. I certainly don't remember this event. However your Mom and Dad were school teachers at that time and there were many months we barely made it to the next paycheck. So maybe aluminum foil was precious to me!

My parents would always let my brother and I sleep in the same room on Christmas Eve. I remember staying up sooooo late (we really probably were only up until 10!), talking about what we were going to open the next day. Oh, the memories! Can you tell I'm getting all sappy about not seeing my brother this year for Christmas?!?!

I was one of those diehard believers in Santa. I had good reason to believe.

When I was 9 years old I asked Santa for a piano. Mother and Daddy had bought one for me previously but couldn't get the piano through the door of our small 4 room house. They had them take it back to the store. I personally witnessed the failure to get the piano into the house.

At this time I shared a bedroom with my two brothers. They slept in a bunk bed set and I had a twin bed. Our bedroom door was about 3 or 4 feet from the front entrance to the house. The same door of the previously failed attempt with the piano.

On Christmas morning we were awake early, and ran to the living room and our presents. There in the middle of the room was that piano!!

Years later we found out that with the help of friends, my parents had taken the frame from around the doorway in order to get the piano into the house. The procedure was carried out so guietly the three of us did not hear a thing.
